BEYOND ROTATION
Deep musical journeys at the next Beyond Rotation on 26 march at Sugar Factory venue, Amsterdam
The next edition of Beyond Rotation on Friday 26 March is proof that not every party requires bells and whistles to make it work. The Sugar Factory in Amsterdam is the venue for Beyond Bookings agency to get back to basics: warm, quality house in a friendly atmosphere. The DJs will take turns to tell their musical story and show their best skills on the night. In order of appearance for the show which runs from midnight to 5am are: Joshua Walter, Roog, Greg van Bueren and Jordy Lishious. Thankfully, all our vastly experienced entertainers do not feel that the smaller clubs are beneath them, despite their high status in today’s clubland.
Programme in order of appearance "It's not about the kitchen, it's about the cook" is an English expression about the quality of the first artist of the night: Joshua Walter. Unique in his own way, Joshua’s records are more than the sum of their parts; presentation is paramount. He knows exactly when to drop the ultimate disco classic and that is essentially Joshua’s strength: having the ability to integrate disco, funk and pop in a modern house style. It can literally go any direction, also during the warm up on 26 March.
As the night picks up, Hardsoul frontman Roog takes over the decks. As is expected from this house master, he will take the night his own way with his usual focus and intensity. Closing his eyes, hands dictating the rhythm, shoulders that move his entire body to the beat: it is this passionate energy that has led dancefloors for years and has turned him into one of the most popular DJs in the country.
Greg van Bueren is next to take to the decks for the middle part of the evening to continue the real 'Hardsoul-vibe'. He takes over from his brother and Hardsoul buddy Roog. Aside from Hardsoul activities, Greg has been actively developing his solo career in recent years, for example, with the soulful release 'Waiting 4 U'. in addition, Greg is also a regular in all the best clubs, including in the programming of Housequake (Roog & Erick ft. MC Gee) and during his own Deepheat nights at Club NL. At Beyond Rotation, Greg will bring his public a classy mix of soul, funk and house. A (video)interview with Greg that he gave at the start of the year in Bali can be found on the Asian KDT Magazine (interview in English only).
The sting is in the tail, which is a good thing! Jordy Lishious will give visitors to Beyond Rotation a lesson in professionally taking things to the next level, utilising the current success of his still fledgling career with his modern techhouse beats. Jordy Lishious stirs the pan of his own productions to great effect in the kitchen! All his productions enjoy real success in the download charts, most recently a co-remix with Bjorn Wolf from the 'Ceeryl Chardonnay & Laurent Pepper – Disconnect' release, which appeared on We Play label from Germany. Massive support came from Fedde le Grand and Funkerman, who not only play this remix, but will also release the Jordy Lishious remix of Fedde’s newest single entitled 'Back & Forth' on Flamingo Recordings in March. If you are still dancing by the time the last set on 26 March is performed you will certainly hear a taste of this track!
