Name: SERGIO FLORES
  Producer / DJ / Remixer
Website: www.floor-s.com

After many successful years as a writer, producer & DJ, Sergio Flores has won himself a great reputation for his comprehensive musicality. Born as the son of two classically trained pianists, father Indian, mother Brazilian; he was exposed to classical music, Latin rhythms & the sound of Soul-music since his earliest days. He started getting into music-production, programming and keyboard- playing in his early teens. When Sergio teamed up with a local DJ at the age of 19, he started to produce club-music and House-music under the moniker of 7 th District Inc.

Amazingly enough, their second single “The Bottle” made it into the UK-Top 100 (although it was an “underground” dance record). Many club-hits followed, on some of the worlds most prolific labels such as: EMI, BMG, Sony, Distance & Slip N’ Slide, just to name a few, and brought Sergio the support and respect of some of many famous DJs. The first release on EMI´ s successful dance imprint Credence was the 7 th District Inc. song “What A Night” that hit the official UK-club-charts @ No. 3 in 1999. Driven by this success, Sergio and his Partner ventured more and more into the world of Pop, leading their way into the studio of Greg “G” Usek, a local producer/engineer, that would mix and co-produce many of 7 th District’s later productions.

After two successful remixes for EMI, one for the Tina Turner single “When The Heartache Is Over”, the other one for Jamelia’s“Thinking ´Bout You”, they were entrusted with the production of a single for Kylie Minogue. The song was called “Spinning Around” and marked Kylie’s return to the top of the UK-charts (and hit No.1 as well in several other countries including Australia, Sweden, Ireland & Portugal). The success of this tune opened the doors for Sergio to enter the world of Pop-music and earned him his first platinum record.

Sergio’s trademark keyboard-playing, drum-programming & arrangement skills are easily recognisable in this song.

In 2002, after several other productions & remixes for artists such as Tom Jones, Vanessa Amorosi, Enrique Iglesias, Gloria Gaynor, S Club 7, or Hearsay, Sergio and his partners were presented the AMADEUS-music-award, the most important music-award in Austria, as best producers.

But after unsolvable differences between him & his partner, Sergio abandoned the 7 th District-project to move on and produce on his own. He cultivated his good relationship with long-time sidekick Greg “G” Usek and they keep on working together on several projects. Soon Sergio started working on new songs and remixes for companies like Warner, Ministry Of Sound, or Superstar Records and writing songs for stars like Giorgio Moroder, Kate Ryan & the Global Deejays.

His new house projects Scientific Soul and G.L.O.W. have quickly gained the support of all the important DJs around the world. He is working with labels such as Defected, Swing City, Raul Rincon’sTenor label, Cyber, ATAL, or the Milk & Sugar label and you can find him collaborating with many world-renowned artists & producers such as DJ Pippi, Danny Marquez, Syke N’ Sugarstarr, Damien J. Carter, Oliver Lang, Stonebridge or JCA, to name just a few. With his remix of Havana Funk’s “Ya Salio”, Sergio conquered the world’s hottest dance floors, and it was played by DJs ranging from Kenny Dope to Frankie Knuckles. His track with French singer Hanna Hais, “Rosa Nova”, was one of the most hyped Club-House-tunes in 2005 and stormed clubs & radio-stations all over the world, while still remaining a favourite of many star-DJs (like Roger Sanchez,Brian Tappert,Mike Gray, Tom Novy, Louie Vega, amongst many others) after its release via Defected/Fluential.

Sergio’s remix for Soul Central’s “Need You Now” became an instant classic and has confirmed Sergio’s position on the map as one of Europe’s leading House-producers, while being played by mostly every DJ in club-land.

It was followed by mixes of the incredibly popular “Most Precious Love” by Blaze feat. Barbara Tucker and remixes for THE anthem of the Winter Music Conference in Miami 2006: Ron Hall & The Muthafunkaz “The Way You Love Me” (both on Defected), all of which can be found on numerable compilations around the globe. Their incredible success established Sergio’s reputation of being “the man of the moment”.

Remixes to be released soon include:

Syke N’ Sugarstarr’s “Watching U”, a sure-fire hit for the German duo and Mitomi Tokoto’s “That Piano Track”.

Sergio´s latest outing in 2006 is a remix for Bob Sinclar´s “World Hold On”, a tune that is bound to be probably the biggest record of the summer, maybe even of the year. It is already being supported by mostly everybody in the game, including Pete Tong. You can be sure to hear this throughout the summer……….

Sergio´s gigs as a DJ can be described as a mix of soulful moods, percussive elements & loads of uplifting moments. “I like it deep, but it must have that energy !” he says.

Being a musician, his sets are always very unique. Sometimes he brings his Keyboard along and jams to the beats. Sergio has played in some of the best clubs around the globe including Privilege (Ibiza), Kaufleuten ( Zurich), El Divino (Ibiza), Neighbourhood ( London), Volksgarten ( Vienna), China Lounge ( Hamburg), Likwid (Bahrein) and various others. This year will see Sergio performing in various clubs worldwide, including Dubai, Tokyo and many other places.
