Amsterdam born Rishi Bass started dj-íng in 1990 in a local “youth club” in Almere-Buiten spinning hiphop R&B and soul. In the early nineties he discovered house music. He heard big dj’s playing in a underground club called Multigroove. He was amazed and catched about the sound what was played by Dano, Gizmo, the Propet and Buzz Fuzz and a live performance by Praga Khan. Believe it or not these were his heroes back in 1992. Those DJ’s were the reason that Rishi Bass started to play House music.
From than Rishi Bass began to focus more on spinning house music and followed the scene. But the house became a lot of harder and faster. Rishi Bass made a move to the more soulfull side of house. “The us Garage”
In 1996 he had his big break on New Dance Radio. He was asked to do a club mix on the radio.it was a big success. Groovemaster Johnson was impressed and introduced him at RoXY Amsterdam to warm up for him. In that same year he secured a Sunday residency at the legendary Amsterdam RoXY on the famous G-Lounge parties. Soon he became a household name in the Dutch UK/US garage scene. In 1998 he was voted #3 best Garage DJ. But in 1999 he dropped the UK/US Garage and began to focus more on tribal latin house. Rishi Bass started to produce his own music. In 1999 he had his first release thru Astral records. The Defect E.P. It was a commercial success and put Rishi bass on the international map his follow up was a release together with Roog and Greg from Hardsoul.
Between 1999 and 2003 he produced a lot of tracks and he was djing all around Holland and Europe.He was asked to play twice at the famous “Love Sexy “parties on the beautiful island of Malta. He also played in every major club in Holland like the RoXY, Escape, Dj café sol, Sinners Club Havanna, Now&Wow, IT and so on.
In 2003 he was noticed by Pete Tong who had played his tune “Peak Compression” on the BBC radio 1 show.
Rishi Bass was ready to lift off but unfortunate Rishi bass had pull back from the scene at the end 2003 due to a illness so he had to slow things down.
In the end of 2005 rishi bass came back on track with producing an djíng. D-Rashid gave Rishi Bass his break and asked him to play on a regular base on the Salsalounge, famous latin house parties in Holland.His big national break was to play on the Latin Village festival 2006. From then he was asked to play more and in clubs and festivals.
In that same year he released three productions. Two with D-Rashid , One on the label of Gregor Salto, G-rex, Latin rockers e.p, and the other on Big Boss records, La fexa e.p. the label of Rob Bboskamp. The other was a team production with Rob Boskam called – Latin Electro e.p . From the Latin Rockers E.P ,Rishi Bass had a clubhit called Shake and with D- Rashid RAW! These tracks were played by all the biggest dj’s in Holland like Roog , Erick E , Fedde le Grande, Laidback luke, Lucien Voort and Benny Rodriguez.
His Dj style is uplifting latin/tribal house with a lot of own productions , edits and remixes. Rishi Bass will rock the crowd wit a real energy set!
